This week the main focus of our works was on installing the tiles in the bathroom, toilet and laundry room. We went for dark tiles on the floor, white ones on the walls and decorative black tile on the plateaus and top rows.
Initially we fell in love with these hexagon mosaic tiles by Terratinta, but soon we found out that cutting them clean to create a straight row of them was a tricky task and the end result wouldn't have been of good quality. So, we improvised and decided to keep the hexagons in the main bathroom for all the plateaus and the sitting bench in the shower.
Also, we chose matching dark stainless-steel tile edge trims. (Personally, I have never imagined I would have spent a day picking tile edge trims, which until then I didn't even know were a thing! 🙃)

Sinks and mirror should be on this wall. The plateau towards the end of the wall is part of the shower. |
In the small toilet the tiles go up only halfway and they are topped up with a row of black decorative tiles. As the hexagonal shape didn't really allow to have a clean finish, we went for good old black squares. The same style repeats in the laundry room but at about 3/4 of the height of the wall.
Next week we expect the delivery and installation of the kitchen and more wall painting. Steady progress and aiming to move in at the end of the month... Fingers crossed!
